I'd like you to work with this statement in faith:
God has Called Me Personally to Sexual Self-Control
and to a Working Resolution of Homosexuality.
This is a most important statement for you to make real for yourself. Here's what it says in Phil 3:l2-l4. "I have not yet reached my goal, and I am not perfect. But Christ has taken hold of me. So I keep on running and struggling to take hold of the prize. My friends, I don't feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is ahead. I run toward the goal, so that I can win the prize of being called to heaven. This is the prize that God offers because of what Christ Jesus has done."
You are in the process of running and struggling to take hold of a prize. It is growth in your likeness to Christ. Each of us is called to this likeness. The Father seeks sons and daughters who are re-born in Christ's image and likeness and character. Your struggle with homosexuality and sexual addictiveness blocks this goal. But you can't get stuck in what the past has been. Let's look at each part of this statement.
God has Called Me Personally to Sexual Self-Control and a Working Resolution of Homosexuality.
First, you have been called by God to resolve homosexuality and sexual maturity. Do you realize that God has spoken to you personally in your heart and in your spirit about your struggle? I think you do because you are enrolled in this program. Your working this I-40 program is a sure sign that you are cooperating with the call of God's Spirit in your heart. He speaks to everyone who deals with homosexuality in this way. Some can hear Him, some can't hear Him, some hear Him and ignore Him. He puts a call or an invitation upon your life. And this means several things. It means:
-God knows you are dealing with homosexuality. Think about that for a moment. God knows that (put your first and last name here) is dealing with homosexuality and sexual addiction. If God knows this, you don't have to run and hide from God about this. You can be completely frank and open with him about your struggle. Isn't that something relieving and freeing? Let that sink in!
-God has acted. His inner voice has Called you to the narrow way. He asks you to find and follow that narrow way that leads to life and wholeness. Not the broad and flesh-gratifying way that leads to death. For that is what out of control sex will do. If He's called you He has acted already! Isn't that something to feel great about? Let that sink in!
-God IS active in the working out of the Call. If he knows all about your struggle and he has called you to resolution, then that means he has taken action already and will be active in your resolution. Let that sink in!
-God intends to complete/achieve the reason for the Call. Do you think God would call you to this kind of resolution and see it fail. No! Never! He fully intends to complete it.
-God expects you to believe in the reality of his call. He expects you to respond to the call. He expects you to remain obedient to the call. Let that resonate inside you for a moment.

GOD HAS CALLED! Write out your heart responses and faith responses to the fact that God knows, has acted, is active, intends, expects.
