The goal of this program is to enable you to continue either total sexual abstinence or limited abstinence as described as "In the BOX" behavior. If you need a reminder about IN THE BOX, see the Article on Sexual Reporting below. However, I challenge you to be totally sexually abstinent, if you can.
To remind you that you are imposing accountability upon yourself to maintain sexual self-control and spiritual good standing before the Lord, this program asks you to do something; to take some action each day, for the next 40 days. The action or activity is designed to strengthen you as a person and as an Adult, Christian, Sexually Mature, Man. Frequently it is a challenging, unique, sometimes disarming behavior. It may introduce you to something new. This is intentional! It affords you the opportunity to get out of your usual mode of existence; that usual mode where sex sometimes becomes the source of stress-reduction, relief and an emotional tranquilizer.
The action/activity is designed to "VITALIZE" you as a person since so many men who deal with tendencies toward sexual addictiveness are often "devitalized" in their personality or lifestyle. See the Article on Devitalization (AD) below to which I will refer frequently.
Sex often becomes prominent, if not addictive issue in a person's life because he does not have a center of contentment, a center of gravity which provides fulfillment and satisfaction within himself. He is devitalized. I know of nothing which more effectively blocks sexual obsessiveness than when a person is genuinely comfortable with himself, with God, others and his work. When he is able to move from the preoccupation with his own needs and gives his attention to others and their needs, to an intimate, filial relationship to the Father, and to other things of absorbing interest, the sexual obsessiveness recedes into the background of his life.
What is italicized is worth reading again! It's the essence of sexual self-control!When he is "vitalized" in these ways, sex becomes becomes normative rather than obsessive or impulsive! Sex becomes neither too much nor too little. It also takes on a wholesome and mature quality. It is normative rather than an urgent necessity. And because of this truth about sex, the Each New Day Program places great emphasis on diverting your attention to other things and people, other modes of behaving and thinking which free you from the 'devitalized' state which often leads to sexual obsessiveness.
Each New Day asks you to maintain accountability by keeping a record of three areas: your sexual activity, your pro-active activity, and your meditation. Your efforts and accomplishments at taking these positive actions in your life and your daily meditation, should keep you vitalized and free of out-of-the-box sexual behavior.
Though some actions or activities are on-going, each day the action or a part of the pro-active activitiy MUST be accomplished. That's why this is called the Each New Day program. Your repsonsibility is to record your experiences at the end of the day sometime (let's say between 6-8PM each day?). What thoughts, feelings and realizations did you experience in accomplishing the activity? Incidentally, it is best if you don't look ahead to future days, but rather take each new day as it comes. That's a good way for you to live anyway! See Matthew 6:34.

Now, whatever your age is, I'd like you to divide it into thirds. Today, to begin your autobiography, take the first third of your life and write about it. What should you write?
