Welcome to 30 days of growth and renewal. I ask the Lord God to bless you richly as you begin this challenging program. You are beginning a program which will strengthen you spiritually, support you in your resolution of homosexuality and help you gain greater sexual self-control.
This is a spiritual character building program. It is designed to help build your underlying character strength so that, being in a solid place with the Lord, and being under the power of the Holy Spirit for 30 days, you have the strength to resolve and manage your sexual behavior better. "Not by power, not by strength, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of Hosts".
Since there is a wealth of material in these reflections and activities it is unlikely that you will accomplish all that it asks of you in any one day. Rather, the days are on-going and overlapping for solid incorporation into your life and character. Each day there is a Bible Passage to study and pray through, a Reflection related to SSA, and some Action to take. If you do not already have an effective Bible study method may I suggest the following which I call Biblical Prayer.

The name indicates that it is both Bible study and Prayer. Simply put, Biblical Prayer is Bible Study which leads to Prayer. I believe that the Lord personally taught me this form of Bible Study and I have been using it for many years. It seems to be a never-failing, always-fulfilling approach to God’s Word which (1) opens the heart of the Word to my mind and heart from the Heart and Mind of the Father, (2) is a vehicle for communing fervently, affectionately with the Lord Jesus Christ, (3) and is a clear leading of God’s Holy Spirit. The goal of this form of biblical meditation is to bring you into vital contact with the Lord. It is based on the fact and truth that whenever we go to the Word of God in a correct spirit (under His SPIRIT), the Lord will speak to you personally Himself in a way He desires and directs from His Word. The fact is, the Lord always desires to meet us personally in His Word. He always desires to speak to us about our lives, our problems, our needs, and His desires for us. A direct word to you from the Lord is the heart of Biblical Prayer. We would not want anything more than to personally hear from God our Father whenever we approach His Word. It is a meditation “process” which leads you to hear from the Lord directly and come into a real sense of His presence. This way of meditating will result in having real “contact” with God, which is, of course, the most spiritually rewarding and growth-producing experience you and I can possibly have in life. This form of Trinitarian meditation will enable you to move through three experiences or stages. 1. Discover the Divisions. The passage may be only one verse and there is no need to divide it into meaningful parts. But when it is several verses, see if you can find natural divisions. 2. Personalize the Passage. How does this passage (pericope) apply to me personally? That is, start with this phrase, "I hear God saying me personally...........! 3. Listen to and Speak in the Spirit as He prays through you. Romans 8: 26 says, "We do not know what we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us in groans that words cannot express." And in John 14:26 it says, "the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name." This is God’s quickening Word administered to you personally by God and returned to God fruitfully, for no Word of God returns void. In this important last stage you will Listen and the (most importantly) Speak in the Spirit to God the Father through Jesus Christ, whatever He has brought to your heart.

Throughout this program,what is most important is your willingness to take risks, try out new behaviors, and overcome your own resistence and lethargy. If you make this kind of effort, I can assure you that you will gain greater self-control, and grow personally and spiritually into a more Adult, Christian, Sexually Mature, Man.
You may also like to make your 30 days a more spiritual experience by observing the Lenten Meditations if they should happen to correspond with the Lenten season of the church year.
